Dr. Drew Carlin knows the stigma attached with going to the dentist. “We don't want you to be scared to visit the dentist,” he says. “We want kids to have a great dental experience early on.”

The experience of Dr. Carlin, Dr. Gregg Garcia and orthodontist Dr. Andrew Kwasny makes your office visit enjoyable. They specialize in children's dentistry, taking care of over 6,000 patients throughout the years from as far away as Butler, Union City and Conneautville. “Sometimes, family dentists can't handle certain children's dental needs, so they refer the families to us,” Dr. Carlin says.

Those special dental needs for kids are very important because cavities are on the rise. “Cavities are the number one chronic disease in children, and a third of kids have cavities,” Dr. Carlin says. “Some of that is because of poor hygiene, while some of it is due to excessive snacking. The longer you put off dental issues, the bigger of a problem they become.”

You'll notice right when you walk into the Beautiful Smiles office that it is a kid-friendly atmosphere. “Our main hygiene bay has six chairs in a circle where all of the kids can watch each other being taken care of,” Dr. Carlin says. “If a kid sees other kids receiving care, they'll likely feel more comfortable. And that's our goal.”

“We treat kids with the respect they deserve and we understand that everyone matures differently,” he adds.
