Erieites looking for some action-packed entertainment can take advantage of the nearby Lake Erie Speedway at 10700 Delmas Drive in North East.

Open since 2002, the 3/8-mile, asphalt-paved speedway is sanctioned by NASCAR (the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) as a part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, and hosts weekly Saturday night races (May-September) with five different race divisions: Plyler Overhead Door Modifieds, NASCAR Street Stocks, NASCAR Compacts, INEX Legends, and INEX Bandoleros. Although many of the drivers in these divisions are locals from western Pennsylvania, the divisions also feature a good mix of drivers from New York, Ohio, and several other states across the country.

Besides racing, Lake Erie Speedway also offers several special events and thrill shows each year including Crash-A-Rama, Monster Trucks, regional/national touring series, the Race of Champions (NASCAR Sprint Cup driver appearances), and concerts such as the MidSummer Music Fest.

Special amenities at the speedway include state of the art speaker and lighting systems; fireworks and pyrotechnics each race night; a Kid's Fun Zone sponsored by Marquette Savings Bank with inflatable bounce houses, slides, an obstacle course, a rock-climbing wall, and a Birthday Party Zone; an Official Lake Erie Speedway Kid's Club for kids 12 and under with free admission on Kid's Club Nights and special awards and activities; a VIP Suite that seats up to 300 people with catering options available; Ride and Drive packages; special non-racing event track rentals; free general parking; free on premise camping; and a Speed Shop selling Lake Erie Speedway merchandise such as hats, T-shirts, hoodies, and more.

“Lake Erie Speedway receives much national recognition as one of the best short tracks in the racing industry because of the amenities we offer,” says Branden J. Kaczay, Executive Vice President of Business Operations at Lake Erie Speedway. “We work hard to provide the best entertainment around.”
