For 75 years, Scott Historical Aerial Photos has been capturing “Erie from the air and land.”

John Scott's dad, Bus, took photos of Erie scenes for 50 years, and now John uses his father's 7,000 historical photos for inspiration — taking current digital photos of those scenes from the ground and the air.

A photo of Dobbins Landing from the 1960s next to one of today's Dobbins Landing illustrates how time has changed Erie. John puts together pictorial timelines of different local landmarks, with shots available as far back as 1938. “People come back to town and want these memories,” John says.

They say there is an art to flying, and while flying, this father and son have created art that showcases Erie throughout its history and today.
