Back in 1967, Jim Rutkowski, Sr. was a manufacturer's representative working out of his home. When he could not find a source for products his customers needed, he started making the parts himself. Like many entrepreneurs, Jim Rutkowski Sr. started Industrial Sales and Manufacturing (ISM) in the family garage with one drill press. That humble start and a commitment to better serve customers has been the driving force behind the company's growth every year since.

Today ISM has grown into a multi-million dollar corporation. High-tech, state-of-the-art machines such as 3D & Fiber Laser Cutters, Flexible Manufacturing Cells, CNC Milling & Turning Centers, and Robotic Welding Cells - over 90 distinct pieces of equipment - have joined the old #1 drill press to provide a full range of services for customers. The company now employs over 160 workers in three facilities encompassing 125,000 square feet and 65 state of the art machines.

Industrial Sales & Manufacturing is an ISO 9001 company. That means the company adheres to the highest level of quality standards in everything they do. For ISM customers that means they can rely on ISM for a full array of manufacturing services that includes: Machining, Fabrication, Assembly, Testing, and Finishing all under one roof.

“The combination of comprehensive capability and high quality standards has enabled us to successfully compete on a global scale,” states ISM General Manager, James Rutkowski, Jr. “With over 800 customers and over 15,000 unique part numbers produced, our work can now be found in products around the world in everything from locomotives to wind turbines.”

The company got its start by providing drilling services for a customer that needed a better solution.” We grew by continuously adding capabilities and through our commitment to excellence while serving some of the world's most demanding companies,” says Rutkowski. “Through all the changes one thing remains the same; our commitment to high quality work and the success of our customers.”Back in 1967, Jim Rutkowski, Sr. was a manufacturer's representative working out of his home.
